I have always made something in my life from cross stitching on a gingham piece of fabric that my mother gave to me when I was eight, to making quilts. Scrapbooking, stamping, cross stitching, crewel are also crafts that I have experience with. The turning point is when I started taking classes (as I worked there) at The University of Saint Francis for art and business.
I loved the art classes and touching and learning about all the different elements. Painting and blending with acrylics and incorporating various mediums into a painting to be able to create something with interest and texture.
My art is very colorful and is inspired by nature, animals, and moments in life. It is meaningful and happy and many times there are critters or hearts hidden in plain sight, making the viewer have to give it a good study.
My studio is in my home, and I show and sell my art at juried art fairs in the Midwest. I am a member of the Fort Wayne Artists Guild and show my work at various places and area galleries and at the Artist Studio Tour. I also give workshops to children and adults.
I have an online gallery and store where I sell originals and fine art reproductions.
My art is under the title of 2D mixed media and I enjoy using gallery wrapped canvas. In my early 40’s I decided to take art classes and fell in love with painting and then added wallpaper and texture paste, stencils and acrylic ink to name a few. I live in Hoagland, IN and have been married to my husband Tom for many, many years, and we have two adult sons along with six rescued cats who make their way into my art often.
